A Marshall teen is charged with a felony for the alleged intention to sell an illegal drug recently in Saline County.
A probable-cause statement says Marshall Police officers were checking on the welfare of 17-year-old Eric Herrera as he reportedly was sitting on a bench outside during freezing temperatures. The officers allegedly noticed suspicious activity from Herrera, and a search allegedly found him to be in possession of 13-individual baggies containing marijuana. Reportedly, each baggie weighed about 1.5 grams.
Online court documents say Herrera has been charged with a Class E Felony for Delivery of 35 Grams or Less of Marijuana or Synthetic Cannabinoid. Bond was set at $5,000 cash or surety, with 10 percent approved.
Herrera’s initial hearing at Saline County Circuit Court in Marshall is pending.
