The Kansas City Royals defeated the Baltimore Orioles 9-4 on Friday, April 19.
The Kansas City offense was powered by MJ Melendez and Vinnie Pasquantino, who both homered. Melendez had four RBI in the game.
Alec Marsh pitched 5 2/3 scoreless innings, with six strikeouts. The Royals gave up a grand slam to Adley Rutschman in the seventh, but that was all Baltimore could do.
The Royals improve to 13-7, and remain a game back from the Guardians for the AL Central lead.
