Craig Kimbrel’s 422nd save equalled Billy Wagner’s career milestone as the Orioles claimed a 9-7 victory over the Royals. Anthony Santander’s first three-double game in the majors was a highlight for Baltimore. Despite Salvador Perez’s impressive five RBI performance for the Royals, including a game-ending flyout to Colton Cowser, Kansas City couldn’t overcome a 7-0 deficit.

Kimbrel secured his fifth save of the season, inching closer to John Franco and Kenley Jansen on the all-time saves list. However, the game’s final ball briefly went missing before being retrieved from the fountains in right field.

Baltimore’s defensive prowess was evident in Santander’s diving catch to initiate the ninth inning. Corbin Burnes pitched solidly for the Royals until Perez’s three-run homer in the sixth inning.

The Royals manager praised Perez’s resilience, while Cole Ragans struggled in Kansas City’s shortest start of the season. Baltimore’s offense flourished, particularly in the second inning, where they tied their season high with 15 hits.

Austin Hays exited the game due to calf tightness, adding to Baltimore’s challenges. Roster adjustments were made by both teams, with Baltimore’s Cole Irvin and Kansas City’s Seth Lugo set to start in the series finale on Sunday.
