City crews were active last night and are continuing their efforts to remove tree limbs and branches from public property and rights-of-way following the recent storm and strong winds to ensure roadways and sidewalks remain clear. Additionally, as a service to the Citizens of Sedalia, residents with tree limbs and branches downed by the storm in their yard may move these items to the area between the sidewalk and roadway in front of their homes for pick-up by City crews over the next few weeks. It is advised to keep the debris out of the street and away from low overhead lines, trees, vehicles, utility poles, and mailboxes.

If possible, limbs should be cut down to under 6 feet in length to aid crews in picking them up more quickly. City crews will attend to the debris as soon as possible and anticipate completing the pick-up process over the next two to three weeks. Additionally, residents have the option to take tree debris and vegetation to the City’s Materials Management Site, located at 27882 Highway U, which is open from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. each day Monday through Sunday, with the exception of City holidays.
