The Kansas City Royals defeated the Toronto Blue Jays 6-1 on Wednesday, May 1.

The Royals scored three runs in the sixth and three more in the eighth. Michael Massey homered and drove in four runs. Bobby Witt Jr. and Salvador Perez also drove in runs.

Seth Lugo pitched seven strong innings, only allowing one run on two hits with eight strikeouts.

Kansas City improves to 19-13 on the season.

The Royals will be back in action on Friday, May 3 to take on the Texas Rangers
