The Saline County Commission terminated an engineering services contract with Rhodes Engineering Company during a special session on Wednesday, May 1.

The commission states the reason the contract is being terminated is due to long-term staff members retiring. The commission says the company was not able to find qualified personnel to fill the open positions and can no longer provide the necessary engineering services for several county projects.

All three commissioners were in favor of terminating the contract. The termination must be signed and approved by the Missouri Department of Transportation so that the projects can be reassigned and transferred to a new engineering firm before continuing.
