Repairs to a bridge near Arrow Rock are complete, but more delays are preventing work on two railroad bridges in our area.

The Missouri Department of Transportation completed work Friday on the Missouri Route 41 bridge over Slough Creek, about two miles south of Arrow Rock. The bridge has since reopened to traffic, after crews had the bridge closed for two weeks to complete repairs.

Meanwhile, crews are again delayed on completing concrete repairs to a pair of bridges over Route 5. The highway under the BNSF main line in Marceline remains closed, as contractors Capital Paving and Construction, LLC say the concrete still needs time to strengthen. MoDOT anticipates the underpass to reopen Tuesday. Route 5 west of Salisbury underneath the Norfolk Southern line also remains closed, with an expected reopening date of Thursday. Detours around both closures are signed.
