fulton-hornets

The North Central Missouri Conference has confirmed that Fulton will leave the conference after the 2025-26 school year.

Marshall activities director Kelly Callanan released a statement from the conference’s five remaining members:

The North Central Missouri Conference (NCMC) announces with regret the departure of Fulton Public Schools from our conference beginning the 2026-27 school year. We deeply appreciate the contributions of Fulton Public Schools to the NCMC. Their involvement has enriched our conference, and we thank them for their years of participation and wish them much luck in the Tri-County Conference.

As we look to the future, the NCMC schools are united in our commitment to uphold the values and traditions that define our conference. We are excited about the possibilities of welcoming new school districts into our conference and continuing to provide excellent competition opportunities for our students.

Fulton’s school board voted unanimously Wednesday to accept an invitation to join the Tri-County in the fall of 2026, becoming its eighth member. Based upon enrollments used by MSHSAA for classification the past school year, Fulton would move from being one of the smaller schools in the NCMC to among the largest in the Tri-County, while cutting their longest drive from 115 miles to 73.  Boonville was the last school to depart the NCMC, joining the Tri-County in 2018.
