County clerks across Missouri are continue to call for willing citizens to work the polls during election day in August and November.

Saline County Clerk Brittni Burton says with heavier turnout expected for both the primaries and general election, it’s “all hands on deck” trying to make sure all the county’s precincts have enough poll workers.

Burton’s office reports that as of Tuesday morning, they have filled 37 of the 84 positions required to fully staff the polls August 6th. Burton says previous poll workers have received an automated call reminding them of the opportunity. She adds that some businesses are making it easier for their employees to step forward.

Saline County residents interested in staffing a polling site this August and November can apply in person at the county clerk’s office. You can also find an application on the county clerk’s website.
