Salisbury’s Board of Aldermen considered an amendment to the city’s ordinances during their meeting last Thursday dealing with lead pipes in the city’s water system.

Mayor Steve Kacvinsky says the Missouri Department of Natural Resources is pushing for the eventual removal of all lead pipes. He explains how the new ordinance will aid in the abatement process.

Kacvinsky says the city presently doesn’t have an exact figure of how many lead pipes are still in use.

Salisbury’s next Board of Aldermen meeting is June 27th, when the budget for the next fiscal year will be considered.
