A Houstonia teenager sustained serious injuries after her vehicle went off a Pettis County roadway early Friday morning.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the one-vehicle accident occurred just before 1 a.m. about a mile south of Houstonia on Route K. Troopers say that an unidentified 14-year-old was traveling south when at the intersection with McCubbin Road, she lost control of the car she was driving and went off the left side of the roadway, striking a culvert. The teenager was flown to a Columbia hospital. It is not known if she was wearing her seat belt at the time of the accident.
