The Slater School District Board of Education approved the 2024-2025 budget during its meeting on Tuesday, June 25.

Before approving final amendments to the 2023-2024 budget and adopting next year’s budget, the board authorized a transfer of $120,000 from the General Fund to the Capital fund. Superintendent Terry Lorenz said the board is planning to purchase a new school bus and renovate the gym floor with these funds.

The board then adopted the budget after the transfer.

In other news, the board approved out of district tuition for elementary and high school student. Out of district tuition is $6,270 for high school students, and $4,180 for students in kindergarten through 8th grade. These are the same rates as last year.
