mizzou-track

Two Missouri Tiger alums and a current grad student have punched their tickets to the Olympics next month in Paris.

Karissa Schweizer took third in the 5,000-meter run over the weekend at the U.S. Olympic team trials in Oregon, posting a time of 14:45.12. Schweizer secured her second berth to the Olympics, after finishing 11th in the 5,000 and 12th in the 10,000 races at Tokyo in 2021. She could also book her spot in the 10,000-meter run Saturday evening just after 8 p.m. Central time.

Two more Mizzou athletes could book trips to France with successful throws Thursday evening in Oregon. Kaia Harris will compete in discus beginning at 6:50. Mitch Weber will begin his quest to join Team USA at 8:45, also in the discus.

In the pool, another pair of Tigers will represent their countries. Mikel Schreuders will represent Aruba in the 50-meter freestyle and 100-meter freestyle. Schreuders competed in the 200-meter freestyle in 2016 at Rio. Clement Secchi will swim the 100-meter fly for France.
