The project to rehabilitate the northbound bridge of U.S. Route 65 over Muddy Creek in Pettis County now has the highway moved to the southbound bridge.

The Missouri Department of Transportation has closed the northbound bridge five miles north of Sedalia to begin the next phase of the project. Northbound traffic is now using crossover lanes to use one lane of the southbound bridge. MoDOT will perform work on the superstructure and guardrail of the northbound bridge, as well as construct a new bridge deck, with the aim of extending the life of the bridge. Work is expected to conclude by the end of September.

The project has a price tag of $3,571,000.
