Kenneth “Peanut” Hemme, 86, of Concordia, MO, died Monday, July 29, 2024, at Meyer Care Center in Higginsville, MO.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 3, 2024, at Bethel United Church of Christ, with Rev. Dr. Alan Gatewood officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Saturday prior to the service. Burial will be in Bethel United Church of Christ Cemetery in Concordia. Memorials are suggested to New York Innocence Project, Bethel United Church of Christ or Lafayette County Cancer Coalition in care of Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home. Born November 18, 1937, in Malta Bend, MO, he was the son of the late Edward Hemme and Lydia Kirchhoff Hemme. He was a member of Bethel United Church of Christ. He loved to fish and spend time with his grandkids and great-grandkids who called him “Grumpy”.

Kenneth is survived by his wife, Doris; five children, Sandra Hemme of Higginsville, Marilyn Winter (Darren) of Alma, MO, Joyce Kays (Mark) of Higginsville, Robert Hemme (Karen) of Concordia and Melissa Olewnik (Jason) of Prince Frederick, MD; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents; four sisters, Ruth A. Yokley, Betty Jane Driver, Mary L. Borgstadt and Dorthey Mae Hemme; and two brothers, Glenn Hemme and Burdett Hemme.
