The Moberly City Council accepted several bids for two of the city’s upcoming projects during its meeting on Tuesday, September 3.

City Manager Michael Bugalski said the city has is working on a long-term project to extend a road at the industrial park. After receiving grant money to help fund the project, Bugalski says the council approved the low-bid from Emery Sapp and Sons.

The board also accepted a bid from RB Small Excavation to re-establish ditches in the city. Bugalski notes that this work needs to be done every so often to help maintain ditches affected by erosion and other natural occurrences.

In other news, the council approved a request from Moberly Area Community College to close College Avenue from West Burkhart Street to West Reed Street from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, September 7 for their annual Art on the Block Event.
