A State Fair Community College student was awarded a $2,500 scholarship from the Missouri State Fair Foundation.

Executive Director of the Missouri State Fair Foundation Karri Wilson presented SFCC student Molly Prichard, an Agriculture major from Robertsville, the scholarship for being selected as the Missouri State Fair Foundation’s inaugural 2024 Young Ambassador.

The scholarship opportunity is part of a partnership between the SFCC Agriculture Department and the Missouri State Fair Foundation. Applicants must do an interview and make a speech to the committee in charge of reviewing applicants. The committee then selects the winning Young Ambassador for the year. The ambassador is awarded a $2,500 scholarship. The opportunity allows the scholarship recipient to work with the Missouri State Fair Foundation during the fair and other networking events throughout the year.

Professional Certificates or an AAS degree in Agriculture provide the skills for a wide variety of careers, including farming, ranching, crop and seed production, fertilizer sales and application, pest and weed control, seed sales, production agriculture, agricultural lending, and agricultural retail sales.
