The #6 Mizzou Tigers have NCAA Division I FBS’ longest active winning streak, as Brady Cook ran for a touchdown and threw for another in a 27-21 victory over #24 Boston College on Saturday, Sept. 14 at Faurot Field.

The Tigers experienced a slow start, allowing Boston College to score on the opening drive. The Eagles’ Thomas Castellanos had three touchdown passes in the game, including one for a 67-yard play early in the second quarter. After that score, the Tigers woke up, taking advantage of a Trevez Johnson interception to set up Cook’s 19-yard pass to Luther Burden III.  A two-point conversion tied the score, and Blake Craig’s third field goal of the half gave Mizzou the 17-14 halftime lead.

Cook led the Tigers on the opening drive of the second half, scoring on a six-yard scamper. Craig added another field goal in the fourth quarter, but Boston College would add their third score late to keep Mizzou on their toes. The Tigers were able to run out the clock to secure their third win of the season and seventh consecutive.

Cook went 21-for-30 for 264 yards, with Burden making six catches for 117 yards including a touchdown.

Mizzou opens SEC play next Saturday afternoon, with Vanderbilt set to visit Faurot Field.  Kickoff will be at 3:15 p.m., putting pregame from the Tiger Radio Network at 1:15 p.m.
