salisbury

The City of Salisbury will make another push this week for landowners along six city blocks to sign easements allowing the city’s sidewalk project to begin.

Mayor Steve Kacvinsky updated aldermen on the project at last Thursday’s board meeting.

Once easements are secured, Maco Construction will begin the grant-funded project. Salisbury will install sidewalks along Route 129 or Weber Street from Second to Sixth streets, as well as Second Street west to Grand and Edson between Second and Front streets.

Also at Thursday’s meeting, aldermen advised organizers of Saturday’s Pumpkin Festival that they will need to maintain access on Second Street for emergency vehicles to enter and leave the area. They also set Oct. 21 at 6 p.m. for a joint meeting of the public works and parks boards, and also made plans to meet with the downtown revitalization committee next month to discuss their plans within the city’s design guidelines and building regulations.
