Marshall’s City Council met in a work session Tuesday afternoon, prior to their regular council meeting, to consider an updated animal control ordinance.

Members of the Public Relations and Public Safety Committee led discussion on proposed changes to the city’s ordinance, using a similar ordinance from Columbia as the template. Mayor Vince Lutterbie says the session was the first committee meeting scheduled to precede the council’s regular meeting, in the hopes of generating more public interest.

The city has archived discussion on the animal control ordinance on their YouTube channel. Lutterbie says he expects the ordinance to come up before the council in a regular meeting next month.
