A Salisbury man was injured when the car he was a passenger in ran off a highway in Jefferson County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says that 48-year-old Dana Tinker was a passenger in an SUV heading south on Route B around 7 p.m. Monday in Cedar Hill, about 30 miles southwest of St Louis. Troopers say the driver of the vehicle, 45-year-old William Temple of Dettmer, swerved to avoid an unknown vehicle and went off the right side of the highway, striking a tree. Tinker sustained minor injuries, while Temple experienced moderate injuries. Both were taken to a nearby hospital. Troopers add that the two were not wearing seat belts at the time of the crash.
