A Columbia woman was killed after her vehicle struck a bridge on a Pettis County roadway Monday, Sept. 30.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol and Pettis County Sheriff’s Department responded to the one-vehicle crash on Walnut Grove Road north of Eckles Road after 7 p.m. According to the patrol, 64-year-old Pamela Holbrook was driving south when she crossed the center of the road and went off the roadway. Her SUV struck a bridge abutment, causing the vehicle to flip on its right side and come to rest in the roadway. Holbrook was pronounced dead at the scene.

This is the 69th traffic fatality reported this year by the Missouri State Highway Patrol in troop A, which covers 13 counties in West Central Missouri including the Kansas City metro.
